What is DGT?

Digital Game Technology (DGT) is the Dutch company that invented the electronic chess clock and the DGT e-board — the standard electronic chess board used in world championship matches, the FIDE Grand Prix, and most major over-the-board tournaments worldwide. DGT boards connect to software to automatically transmit moves, enabling live broadcasts directly from the physical board.

The DGT product range includes standalone chess clocks, e-boards in various sizes and materials (including rosewood and maple boards for premium play), and the Pegasus board designed for home use with integrated Bluetooth for connecting to chess apps. DGT clocks are mandated in many FIDE-rated events and are the de facto standard for competitive chess timekeeping.

DGT products are sold directly and through chess retailers worldwide. For clubs, organizers, and serious over-the-board players who want professional-grade equipment, DGT is the reference brand.
