Chesspath
Interactive opening explorer that visualizes the most common paths through the opening phase as a decision tree.
What is Chesspath?
Chesspath is a visual opening explorer that represents the chess opening as an interactive path diagram rather than a traditional move-list or tree. Each position branches into the most statistically common continuations, with the width of branches indicating frequency, giving an intuitive picture of where games typically go from any starting position.
You can navigate from the initial position or paste in a FEN to start from a specific point. The tool draws on a database of master games and shows win/draw/loss statistics alongside move frequency. It is particularly useful for getting a high-level view of an opening before diving into detailed lines.
Chesspath is free to use and requires no account. It complements more detailed opening explorers by offering a quick visual overview rather than exhaustive line-by-line coverage.
