ChessBase GmbH is a Hamburg-based chess company founded in 1987, best known for the ChessBase database software that has become the standard tool for professional chess preparation. The company also produces Fritz, its flagship chess engine and training platform, as well as ChessBase Magazine, a regularly updated digital publication containing annotated games, opening surveys, and video lessons from top grandmasters.
